Second Consolidated Annual Progress Report on Activities Implemented under the Peacebuilding Fund (2008)
New York, 14 July 2009 - The UNDP MDTF Office, in its capacity as the Administrative Agent of the Peacebuilding Fund, presented today the "Second Consolidated Annual Progress Report on Activities Implemented under the Peacebuilding Fund (2008)". Part II of the Annual Progress Report includes separate sections on PBF-activities in the following countries: Burundi, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea Bissau, Liberia, Sierra Leone, as well as the Emergency Window.

New York, 14 July 2008 - The UNDP MDTF Office, in its capacity as the Administrative Agent of the Peacebuilding Fund, presented today the "Second Consolidated Annual Progress Report on Activities Implemented under the Peacebuilding Fund (2008)".

Review of the Peacebuilding Fund
4 June 2009 - In early 2009, Canada, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and the UK jointly commissioned a review of the Peacebuilding Fund. The review was carried out by two independent consultants and built further on some of the findings of the 2008 OIOS evaluation of the PBF. The focus of the joint review was to look at how to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of PBF mechanisms and operating modalities in order to achieve the PBF’s stated aims. The Peacebuilding Support Office and UNDP Multi-Donor Trust Fund Office were represented on the review Steering Group along with the commissioning donors.
The final report puts forward a number of specific recommendations and benchmarks for implementation in order to contribute to the ongoing PBF reform effort. The full report is available here.

PBSO PBF Presentation to Donors
New York, 15 January 2009 - The Peacebuilding Support Office (PBSO) presented the status of the Peacebuilding Fund to Donors contributing to the PBF. PBSO also presented an overview of projects with a particular focus on women and peacebuilding, as well as the latest PBF Bulletin.

Launch of the Secretary-General’s Report on the Peacebuilding Fund
3 September 2008 – In launching the Report, the Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said that the PBF has made great strides since its creation. Further, the report notes that the PBF has swiftly become a unique and dynamic tool to help countries emerging from conflict avoid slipping back into war. Press Release

Presentations on the Peacebuilding Fund in Burundi and Liberia
New York, 5 Mar 2008 – The second meeting of the PBF Advisory Group was convened on 5-6 March 2008. Prior to the meeting, the Permanent Mission of Finland to the UN convened a Seminar entitled "Catalytic Action for Peacebuilding: Examples of the UN Peacebuilding Fund", co-chaired by HE Ms Marjatta Rasi, Under-Secretary of State for Development in Finland and Chair of the PBF Advisory Group, and HE Ms Carmen María Gallardo Hernández, Permanent Representative of El Salvador to the UN and Vice-Chair of the Peacebuilding Commission. During the Seminar, presentations were made on Burundi by H.E. Ambassador Nahayo, Permanent Mission of Burundi to the UN, and on Liberia by HE Ms Estelle K. Liberty, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Government of Liberia. A summary of the Seminar is available here.
